Increasing joy, presence, and connection… little by little!
In music, a crescendo is a gradual increase in sound…
… and at Crescendo Counseling, that is my hope for you! That you will find a place where you can grow, increase, and find abundance. Gradually, day by day, and little by little.
Hi, I’m Maddi!
I’m the human behind Crescendo Counseling.
I’m also a licensed clinical mental health counselor and board-certified music therapist offering individual, arts-based, virtual therapy sessions for teens and adults in Asheville and across North Carolina
Sometimes we reach that stuck point in our lives where it has become hard to find growth. Maybe that sounds like…
“I know this thing needs to get done, but I just can’t seem to get organized or find the motivation.”
“I think it might be time to make a change, but I just have no idea what that would even be.”
“Something unimaginable happened in my past, and it is still deeply affecting how I show up in the world.”
“I have big dreams, and I know I’m a bright person, but I just don’t know how to start.”
“I’ve tried therapy before, but just talking about things didn’t seem to help.”
Do any of these sound like you? If so, let’s talk!

Telehealth/Virtual Art-Based
Therapy Might Look Like…
… you using the materials you already have at home. Got a pencil and some paper? Then you can do arts-based therapy at home! Or maybe you already have some instruments or art materials at home. Let’s use those! You certainly do not have to buy anything new to do therapy with me.
… us just using art/music from time to time to supplement traditional talk therapy. Sometimes the primary focus is on the art/music, and sometimes it’s not. Both are okay!
… utilizing free online programs like BandLab or me using instruments on my end to write music/songs together. Songwriting and music composition can still be a very collaborative process even if we’re not physically in the same room!
… us listening to/discussing music together. Music can be such a great way to help us talk about the hard things, right? Sometimes we may create music, and other times we may listen to music that already exists that helps us name our experience.
